What is Good for Dry Skin?

Dry skin is a problem that can be seen in every skin type. In other words, even someone with oily skin should protect their skin from possible dryness. There are many factors that cause dry skin. Some of these are variables such as weather, hot showers, products used for skin cleaning, soap, skin diseases. When it comes to weather, especially in winter months, dryness can be seen in places on the skin and lips with the cooling weather. Frequent showers with water that is hotter than average can cause dry skin. In addition, people who wash their hands very often can experience dry hands due to excessive contact with water. Products used for skin cleaning, especially for the wrong purpose or not suitable for the skin type, also cause dryness. A skin cleansing gel that is suitable for the skin's PH should be preferred for facial cleansing, not soap.

Cleansing gels or cleansing foams are products that gently cleanse the skin and are produced for this purpose. Dry skin usually shows itself with typical symptoms such as a feeling of tension on the skin, sometimes cracked skin, a rough texture, redness and itching on the skin. There are some important actions that can be taken to prevent these. Not using very hot water when taking a shower, moisturizing the entire skin - especially the hands and face - after bathing and at other times as the skin needs, drinking plenty of water, never scratching the dry and reddened tissue on the skin, using gloves to prevent contact of the hands with water and detergent, and doing regular skin care will be good for dry skin and will help reduce the symptoms. There are many types of products on the market specially produced for dry skin: Moisturizing creams, lotions, skin care oils, etc. Although oiling the skin may sound strange, it will not cause any problems as long as the oil applied is suitable for direct application to the skin and the right amount is applied. Some oils suitable for the skin are sweet almond oil, avocado oil, St. John's wort oil, shea butter. Of course, it is recommended to do an allergy test by applying a small amount of the product to the inside of the wrist before application. If there is no negative result from this test, a small amount of oil can be applied to the skin without rubbing it.
